@Eskimo50 California style burgers dont require toasted buns, similar to popular restaurants now like mcdonalds you grill a thin burger dice up some onions add a pickle and a little mustard and your done. This style of making burgers originated on route 66 as a way for diners to make something fast and easy for travelers.

@Eskimo50 Some Americans don't know any better, but, I'm in America, and I always toast my buns, and I believe lots of Americans do. Almost every time I watch a BBQPB video with bread in it, I want to comment, "Toast that bread!".
